The Taylor Family Foundation
Established in 2011, The Taylor Family Foundation is a public foundation located in Calgary, Alberta. The foundation represents the vision of its founder, Mr. Don Taylor, as an extension of his personal philanthropy.
From humble beginnings, Don came to Calgary at the age of two after a drought drove his family off their farm in Barons, Alberta. Taylor, who holds both a BSc and MSc in Civil Engineering, started his career working for the Canadian Western Natural Gas Company.
Mr. Taylor always had aspirations of owning his own business. In 1967 he took over the presidency of Engineered Air, a heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment manufacturing company. Under Don's leadership Engineered Air has become internationally recognized for its high manufacturing standards, research and development, innovative products, and customer loyalty.
Don’s philanthropy reflects a deep-rooted sense of responsibility to give back to his community. The Taylor Family have always demonstrated generosity, hard work and commitment.
In 2011, Mr. Taylor was inducted as a Member of the Order of Canada for his life-long career as an innovative entrepeneur and generous philanthropist. In 2015 Don was promoted to Officer of the Order.
The Taylor Family Foundation is wholly committed to its mandate of providing a supportive hand up that is aligned with the values of Don and his family.
